Kurfess is the Chief Manufacturing Officer of the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the Executive Director of the Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute. His research focuses on the design and development of advanced manufacturing systems for the production and optimization of complex products. He has significant efforts underway in advanced and high precision manufacturing, as well as national and international manufacturing policy issues.
